Key Features of the Facility
The crash test facility, which spans 280 meters, includes two primary test areas and multiple foundations designed to support a variety of crash scenarios. With a combination of fixed and movable blocks, the facility can handle vehicles up to 25 tons and execute complex Car-to-Car (C2C) tests. The C2C tests allow for vehicles of 3.5 tons to impact at 70 km/h, with adjustable offsets, simulating a wide range of real-world conditions.
The facility also features two strategically located film pits, designed for high-resolution data capture during crash events. The pits, covered with durable transparent slabs, ensure long-term structural integrity while allowing comprehensive filming of each test.
Precision in Testing
The MESSRING-equipped facilities are recognized for delivering exceptional precision in crash testing. The speed control systems offer unmatched accuracy, maintaining tolerances of:
- ±0.1 km/h** for speeds up to 65 kph
- ±0.2 km/h for speeds up to 90 kmph, and
- ±0.3 km/h** for speeds up to 120 kph.
For impact testing, the facility guarantees pinpoint accuracy, with deviations as small as ±10mm for frontal, side, and rear crash tests, and ±25mm for C2C tests. This level of precision ensures reliable and repeatable results, supporting both research and regulatory compliance.
