FMVSS

Stands for Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, the U.S. regulations that set minimum requirements for operating vehicles. The FMVSS regulations are divided according to assembly groups. They describe the requirements that these assembly groups must meet in the USA in order to be approved for use on public roads. This includes, among other things, specifications or requirements for vehicle safety. The various versions also contain information on the required test procedures. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is responsible for drawing up these safety regulations.
