The new Euro NCAP test protocol came into force at the turn of the year. More than before, the protection of crash partners is taken into account when evaluating the results. In concrete terms, this means a change in the frontal crash test procedure, where a solid barrier was previously used, a deformable barrier is now mandatory. This new MPDB simulates the front of another car and documents the resulting crash interactions. This means that the new standard can also assess the damage a vehicle causes to the other party involved in the accident.
The further development of the Euro NCAP protocol aims to provide greater protection for all road users. MESSRING supports the adaptations and supports the automotive industry by offering calibrated, protocol-conform barriers.
